What is it about these shows that make them so irresistible? In our opinion it’s the combo of the wild social experiments, the whirlwind romances, the ups and downs of will these relationships REALLY work out, and sometimes the thought provoking questions and even therapy we can get out of these shows. Lets talk about our favorites and if you haven’t seen one of these, you might want to check it out!
Americas #1 reality show - Love is Blind
Unlike traditional dating shows, which often focus on looks, Love Is Blind flips the script by forcing connections to be built on emotional connections first and it makes you think- can dating and love really work this way? I think it makes us all think, how can we bring more to this into dating in 2025.

#2 Married at First Sight
This shows wow factor is complete strangers are legally married the moment they meet.
Professional match makers work behind the scenes to curate the perfect couples and they literally get married the first second they meet. Married at first sight is currently on season 18 And has several successful couples and even babies from the marriages! This is one of our long time favorites, with the professional matchmaking, and therapy sessions the couples go through throughout the season it’s as realistic as a reality show gets and has left us wondering why can’t we have a counseler to call when we get in a fight with our significant other ☺️

#3 The Ultimatum
The wow factor of this show is long term couples swap significant others to test the strength of their relationship
At first glance this show seemed like it was another show about looks and temptations. But at a second glance it really separates the couples who are in it for the long run, and the couples who need to just call it quits. It has us thinking maybe all couples who are completely sure about their relationship should go through something like this. (Maybe not a reality show but some kind of break or test) It seemed to make the couples really think about what they wanted, if they were happy and if they needed to move on.

#4 The first dating reality show- the Bachelor/Bachlorette
If you have never seen it, 1 male or female dates 25+ contestants for a series of weeks and it may even end in a proposal at the end.
We had to include this one on the list because for us it’s the first one that made us obsessed with reality dating shows. Sometimes we still tune in for the drama, the crazy dates ( think girls dressed in hot dog costumes or trying to catch hot dogs in their mouths 🫣) and the lavish trips. However the whole concept seems antiquated, the idea of 25+ girls or guys waiting around to date ONE person seems insanely unrealistic in a dating age where people can’t even stick with one partner. However 28 seasons shows that people still tune in, and there have been successful marriages and relationships that came from the bachelor.
Each of these shows creates situations that feel both bizarre and relatable, because even though most of us don’t marry strangers, we all wonder if love can survive under extreme conditions. Were texting our friends and guessing who will stay together. We’re turning it into a girls night in and bringing wine & cheese.
We love them,we hate them, & we love to hate them, but one things for sure we will be tuning in to the next season ☺️
